Peter Ikenga is currently the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of Transcorp Power Plc. He is resolutely committed to advancing the transformation of the Ughelli Power Plant, with the ultimate goal of establishing it as the leading power generation company in Nigeria and the broader West African region.
Peter is a value-driven and result-oriented oil and gas professional with a wealth of global experience, having directly developed or managed major oil, gas, and power assets and operations in multiple regions including Nigeria, Brazil, and the United States of America. Prior to joining Transcorp, he was Refining Director for Niger Delta Exploration and Production Limited.
Peter’s oil and gas industry experience spans upstream, midstream, and downstream. He previously held senior technical, business, and commercial leadership positions in new business/asset development, project management, engineering management, and operations support. His roles include developing multi-billion-dollar projects, managing non-operated asset portfolios, overseeing strategic acquisition opportunities, negotiating contracts and strategic partnerships, optimising production operations, and leading the full execution, construction, and commissioning of major projects.
Peter earned a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Federal University of Technology Owerri, Nigeria and a Master of Business Administration degree from The University of Texas at Austin, United States of America.
